Steelmanning Questionnaire for Dapps

Steelmanning is the process of building the best form of the arguments against your project then engaging with them. These questions are not an attack on the project, merely what we think could come from the community. Answering them now allows us to patch up any weaknesses in our narrative so we can bring the best counterarguments.

INCENTIVIZATION/ADOPTION

  • Why would an organization/platform use your product? Most crypto platforms handle their own governance and most large organizations are resistant to adopting third-party technology. What tangible benefits will be provided that could sell them on adoption?

  • Are there currently any dApps or organizations that will be partnered with to showcase the platform’s effectiveness?

TECHNICAL

  • Has the app been stress tested to handle the actual numbers being claimed? There are instances in crypto where projects claim the platform/app can handle high volume, but then it crashes or stalls when real volume comes in. Is this a 3rd party stress test, or internal?

  • Will it be user friendly?  Do you have ideas on how to broach the technical barrier between users who may not have blockchain exposure or understand how it works?

FINANCIAL/TOKENOMICS

  • Crypto, blockchain, smart contracts, and decentralized governance are still part of a nascent space. Speculation and token holding is a necessary evil for liquidity and funding in these early stages. What are the incentives for holding the token? Why would a community member purchase and stake the token beyond governance?

REGULATORY LEGAL

  • How can we demonstrate the viability of these systems and integration into more centralized legacy systems?

  • Are there systems currently in place?

  • How might this evolve and what barriers are there between legal structures and decentralized frameworks?

TARGET MARKET

  • Who might use your app?

  • What are your initial targets for user acquisition?

  • How will you approach them and what will your engagement process look like?
